Keiju Kollektiv: A new vocal ensemble

Keiju Kollektiv began as a dream of Executive Director, Marja Liisa Kay and Artistic Director, Braden Pontoli to form a professional vocal ensemble solely dedicated to performing Nordic folk music. The music from the Nordic nations is strikingly beautiful, promotes peace, nature, and humanity.

Keiju: Finnish for a mythical musical fairy

Kollektiv: Finnish-ish for collective.

Mission: Keiju Kollektiv is a Nordic contemporary folk ensemble comprised of professional musicians who share the unique regional soundscapes and culture with diverse audiences.

Vision: Keiju Kollektiv celebrates the traditional music of Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway, and Sweden in innovative ways. We support living composers and arrangers who live in Nordic countries or have a deep appreciation for Nordic music. Through our performances, we encourage audiences to deepen their understanding of the rich history and culture of Nordic folk music.
